FITNESS PHYSICAL THERAPY

WPB, FL'S BEST PHYSICAL THERAPISTS

BEST PHYSICAL THERAPIST IN WPB, FL
South Florida Physical Therapists focus upon healing our patients through the use of exercise, rehab and individualized treatment plans rather than relying upon medication or invasive surgeries. While individuals who suffer from relatively mild conditions such as chronic shoulder pain, muscle stiffness or sciatica can benefit tremendously from physical therapy, its primary purpose is to rehabilitate patients and assist them in recovering from debilitating illnesses or injuries.

We take a hands-on approach, encouraging our clients to be an active participant in their own recovery by teaching them exercises and stretches that can be done at home in between therapy sessions. We also work with our patient’s families in order to ensure that they are properly educated about the goals of the individual treatment plan.

Depending upon your specific schedule, we meet with many different clients in a day. While most physiotherapists work within a clinical setting, and may also be employed by hospitals, nursing homes or schools, our services are provided within our wheelchair accessible gym. We are responsible for tracking our patient’s progress in accordance with the treatment plan that has been created, and will make necessary adjustments if progress is not being made.

South Florida's Advanced Phyical Therapy
Patients who have suffered from a major trauma require far more extensive treatment in physical therapy. In the case of a spinal cord injury, partial or complete paralysis may occur below the site of trauma. This can result in the inability to walk or move other areas of the body. A physical therapist is responsible for helping their patients improve their range of mobility by introducing them to adaptive devices, such as walkers, crutches, prosthetics, orthopedic aids or wheelchairs. During treatment sessions, patients who cannot walk are able to gain access to our wheelchair accessible gym, where they are given the opportunity to build strength and improve dexterity.

In the case of a patient who has experienced a partial injury to the spinal cord, the ability to relearn the skills needed to walk and utilize other affected areas is made possible through the implementation of our rigorous physical therapy programs. Walking after a spinal cord injury requires an intense amount of retraining the body on a physical level. We help these patients rebuild atrophied muscles in order to help them achieve the highest degree of mobility possible.

Patients who experience a neurological ailment, such as a traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy or a stroke are benefited from physical therapy as well. They are individually evaluated in order to have their needs assessed, and our physical therapists then create an individualized treatment plan. The goal of this plan is to help the patient regain the fullest possible degree of mobility and independence. The range of intensity for an individualized plan varies depending upon the degree of damage sustained to the body and/or neurological system at the time of injury.
